Greenfield E-ACT Primary Academy

Greenfield E-ACT Academy is an innovative, creative learning community where all learners feel valued, safe and happy.

At Greenfield, expectations of behaviour and attitude to education are high. The best is expected of every pupil and in return the academy is committed to providing them with the best possible environment in which to learn.

The academy is a caring community that values personal, social and emotional development as well as academic and creative achievement. To do this, Greenfield tracks the performance of all pupils closely, challenges lack of progress and intervenes to ensure attainment gaps are closed. In Year 6, this is extended to include a 1:1 meeting for every pupil with the Head of School and parent or carer to discuss their individual progress as they prepare for secondary school.

The curriculum challenges and supports all pupils to reach their full potential in all subjects. Teaching staff work in teams to cover the essential curriculum subjects. This team approach to topic learning ensures that the curriculum is broad and balanced, and that regular links are made between areas of learning.

In addition, the academy offers a rich range of extra-curricular after school and lunchtime clubs: art club, maths club, eco club, drama club, dance, rugby, football, netball and many more.

Most recently, the academy has developed a Forest School to make the most of the extensive and impressive school grounds, and embraces opportunities for outdoor learning. The School Council also plays an active role in school life, most recently overseeing the design and development of a new playground.

Greenfield works in in a federated partnership with Ilminster Avenue E-ACT Academy and St Ursula’s E-ACT Academy with all three academies overseen by Executive Principal Stephen Luke.

"Pupils make good progress in their learning because teaching is consistently good, and some is outstanding."
