Former chief executive withdraws tribunal claim

Apr 28, 2009

The trustees of Edutrust Academies Charitable Trust (EACT), one of the largest multi-academy sponsors in the UK, have agreed a settlement with their former Chief Executive, Ian Comfort, over employment issues. Mr Comfort has agreed to withdraw his tribunal claim.

Commenting on the decision, Mr Comfort said: “I am pleased that we have been able to reach an agreement which enables everyone to move forward. I am satisfied that the matters I raised are being addressed, and I wish EACT well for the future.”

Noorzaman Rashid, Vice-Chair and acting Chairman of the EACT said: “I would like to thank Ian for his support, and for the hard work that he put into establishing our academy programme.  He is a very able executive, and one of the most experienced educationalists in the Academy world.  We have benefited from his input.
  • Dr Krishna Sarda resigned from EACT with effect from 30 April 2009. He intends to pursue other academic and professional interests - including the completion of his academic work at Harvard University in the United States.
