Academy wins national education award

Dec 4, 2009

E-ACT’s Trent Valley Academy has won a national award, the prestigious Inclusion Quality Mark recognising its efforts to provide high quality learning for all. TVA, one of only 450 schools to receive the award, worked alongside Castle Hills and Middlefield schools in Gainsborough to look at inclusion in the wider sense, and their commitment to removing barriers for learning.

Dave Thompson, Assistant Principal at TVA said: “I feel very proud of the work which has been undertaken at TVA and the Inclusion Quality Mark is a validation of everyone’s efforts in promoting academic excellence in a caring and positive environment where every person matters.”

Joe McCann, Chief Executive of IQM, handed the certificate to Tom Megahy, Executive Principal at TVA, in front of representatives from West Lindsey District Council and Lincolnshire County Council. The presentation included a short performance from the academy’s Performing Arts Department.

TVA moved to its new £33 million academy building in September 2009. E-ACT sponsors academies across England.
