Parents and pupils give their views as academy plans take shape
Parents, pupils and staff at two Brent schools are being given the chance to have their say on plans to develop two new state-of-the-art academies.
Education sponsor EACT is proposing to establish the two new Academies as part of a major programme designed to improve standards and facilities for pupils as part of its excellence in education programme.
Consultation brochures on the plans have been sent to all parents, governors and staff asking for their feedback on the proposals.
Edutrust Chief Executive, Dr Krishna Sarda, is hoping that anyone with an interest in the schools will give their views on the plans. He said: “We’ve mapped out exciting proposals to transform the existing schools into high-achieving academies in new purpose-built buildings. Our vision is to develop the best opportunities for young people at our academies to achieve their potential. I also want our academies to be at the heart of the communities they serve, making the most of the excellent facilities they offer. So it’s important that we get the views of the people who are most affected by the proposals.”
Sir Bruce Liddington, the former Schools Commissioner for England and EACT Director General, is leading the development of the education strategy for the new academies. He said: “My highest priority is to make sure we use all our resources to improve the education and opportunities for everyone attending our academies. This is a huge opportunity for pupils, parents and staff and I’m looking forward to hearing about and discussing their views because they will help shape the future.”
