Education
Admission to E-ACT academies is not selective. All students at the predecessor school, where there is one, automatically become students of the new academy.
We focus on maintaining the highest possible standards so that each student can sustain improvements made in their progress through the academy.
Our quality standards are applied across all academies. This helps ensure we are consistently improving our academies across the E-ACT family and across England.
People learn more easily when their teachers know them well and respond quickly to their needs, so learning at E-ACT academies is based on regular one-to-one meetings where students review their progress and set new achievement targets with their tutor.
Each academy follows the National Curriculum and ensures that all students realise their personal and academic potential in a supportive learning culture with high expectations.
The curriculum is complemented by a wide range of courses, including vocational options, to meet the needs and interests of all students.
The focus is on English, maths, science and ICT and the academy’s particular specialisms, which include new courses, enriching experiences and innovative teaching methods.
E-ACT gives students opportunities they would not otherwise experience, such as international curriculum links and educational volunteer programmes abroad.
E-ACT students also benefit from personal mentors from business, voluntary organisations and higher education to support their learning and broaden their experiences, especially of the world of work.
Outside conventional school hours and during the holidays, academy facilities are available for use by the community, voluntary groups, sports clubs and local businesses
E-ACT works on a multi-agency basis with local councils, other partners and businesses to create a hub of activities for local families to enjoy.
