The Board and management

E-ACT benefits from the expertise and wide-ranging experience of a Board and management team which ensures that our academies follow proven best practice. The team also has access to specialist advisers and consultants.

Director General Sir Bruce Liddington joined E-ACT on February 1, 2009. The former Schools Commissioner for England was a senior civil servant and key adviser on the Government's academies programme. As a headteacher he transformed the failing Northampton School for Boys into one of the country's most successful state schools.

The educational experience of E-ACT's management team and Board, under the leadership of Chairman Dr Noorzaman Rashid, includes working successfully with underperforming schools at leadership, senior local authority, governor and community levels. Members of the E-ACT team have significant experience of establishing and running successful schools and academies. This gives them a solid practical understanding of what makes a good school and the ability to make the changes required to achieve significant improvements.
