Sir Bruce Liddington

Sir Bruce is one of the leading UK advocates for school innovation and independence to drive improvement of educational attainment and aspirations.

As a Headteacher, Sir Bruce turned around the performance of an under-performing school to a successful comprehensive Boys School in Northampton.  He moved to become a Government advisor, led the development of the Academy Schools movement, and was appointed by the British Government as the first Schools Commissioner for England.  Sir Bruce was responsible for developing a more diverse school offer for parents and children and established over 200 new Academies and 300 Trust Schools in England during this time.

Currently Director General of E-ACT, which is one of the leading sponsors of new Academy schools in Britain.  E-ACT is a registered not for profit organisation established to promote excellence in education and learning.

Sir Bruce speaks regularly on educational issues in the UK and is an advisor to a number of Government and non-Government bodies.
