A News story by Ellena Schuster-Farrell 6 October 2017

Pupils at Chalfont Valley E-ACT Primary Academy in Buckinghamshire have been thoroughly enjoying the specialised football coaching they have been receiving from the Chelsea Football Club Foundation.

At the end of the last academic year, pupils in Year 4 and Year 5 spent a term and a half training with CFC coaches every Friday. The coaches helped pupils to perfect their footballing talents, teaching them everything from skills to game strategy. Pupils also worked on their fitness and learned how to play as part of a team.

Feedback was fantastic all round, with Associate Headteacher Jess Costelloe reporting not just improved behaviour, but that all children had remembered their PE kits!

To celebrate the end of the programme, awards were handed out on the last day of term. All children were presented with certificates of achievement, an interactive Chelsea calendar for the next academic year and a medal.

A special mention goes to Chyna Holland and Adam Leslie, who were presented with trophies for their positive attitudes and improvement over the term. Expect to see them turning out for a Chelsea first eleven in the not too distant future!
