E-ACT The Oldham Academy North supporting school community with food bank

We don’t want anyone in our academy communities going hungry and will do whatever we can to support those in need.  Schools are more than places of learning and E-ACT The Oldham Academy North (TOAN) is holding a food bank on the last Friday of each month for all of their families.

Previously, families who were eligible for Free School Meals had been supplied by the Local Authority with a food voucher during all school holidays, however this is now not the case over the February and October half terms.  As such, the school is keen to receive more donations so they can offer more support to their families.

The school set the food bank up around October 2022 and they have managed to successfully offer the service during term times since then. This has been possible due to the kind donations of staff and families.

Are you in the Oldham community?

School families wishing to access the food bank can do so on the last Friday of the month, simply call the reception team at the school or visit them and they will be happy to help. Reception is open from 7.30am to 5.00pm between Monday and Friday in term time.

Families experiencing hardship can also visit https://www.gov.uk/cost-of-living to find guidance and support on a range of issues such as the cost of bills and managing money.
