How you can help to inspire our pupils

We are seeking an exceptional English Teacher with the responsibility for KS3 Leader for English to start at the academy as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be an experienced classroom teacher, with good understanding of the changes to English GCSE qualifications, in particular the requirements of the new AQA GCSE specification for English Language and Literature. They will also be keen to develop and lead new curriculum specifications in KS3.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and ensure delivery of high quality teaching and learning for which the teacher is accountable.
  • Work closely with the Director of English in planning, monitoring and delivery of the KS3 curriculum and the progress of students.
  • Lead Accelerated Reader, ensuring engagement and participation from both staff and students, monitoring participation, progress and classroom practice.
  • Co-ordinate Catch –Up programme in line with AIP, identifying cohort, arranging intervention and monitoring progress, reporting to BD.
  • Attend and contribute to KS3 RAP meetings.
  • Feedback to Director on a fortnightly basis (during line management meetings) about the progress and interventions in KS3, including Accelerated Reader, Ruth Miskin and Catch up programme.
  • Observations, work and marking scrutinise and support of colleagues teaching KS3 classes.

  • Work closely with the Director of English in planning, monitoring and delivery of the KS3 curriculum and progress of students.
  • Lead the Accelerated Reader programme, ensuring engagement and participation from both staff and students, monitoring participation, progress and classroom practice.
  • Co-ordinate and lead the Catch-Up programme to identify and support meaningful intervention for targeted students.
  • Feedback to Director on a fortnightly basis about the progress and interventions in KS3 including Accelerated Reader, Ruth Miskin and Catch up programme.
